About SellWiki
Our story
SellWiki was built by collectors, for collectors. We spent years watching the European auction market consolidate around a handful of incumbents who charged buyers and sellers alike fees that felt punishing relative to the service delivered. A 9% buyer’s premium layered on top of a 12–15% seller commission means that a €1,000 hammer price costs the buyer €1,090 and nets the seller €850 — a €240 gap extracted by the platform. We believed that an honest, well-run marketplace could do considerably better than that, and SellWiki is our attempt to prove it.
The platform launched in 2026, operating from Italy and serving buyers and sellers across the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland. We focus on collectibles: art, fine watches, jewellery, coins and banknotes, comics and original illustration art, vintage fashion, and related categories where provenance, condition, and authenticity matter. Every lot is reviewed before it goes live. We decline listings that do not meet our standards for completeness and accuracy — not because we are gatekeepers, but because a marketplace is only as good as the trust its buyers place in it.
Our team is small, European, and deliberate. We have no interest in becoming a mass-market platform for secondhand consumer goods. SellWiki is for people who care about what they own and what they sell. If that is you, you are in the right place.
What makes us different
The two most visible differences are the fee rates and the payout model. At 4.5% buyer’s premium and 6.25% seller commission, we charge roughly half of what the dominant European platforms charge. We absorb Stripe’s payment processing fees from our margin, so the rates you see are the rates you pay. There are no listing fees, no relist fees, no subscription fees, and no hidden charges in Phase 1. We earn only when a sale completes.
Payments and payouts run through Stripe Connect, which means sellers receive their funds directly into their own Stripe accounts, typically within 7 days of a buyer’s payment clearing. SellWiki never holds seller funds in a proprietary float; the money moves through Stripe’s regulated infrastructure, which provides a level of transparency and trust that marketplace-held balances cannot match.
On the buyer side, Buyer Protection covers material misrepresentation and non-delivery, with a straightforward claim process, a clear 10-business-day decision timeline, and full refunds where claims are upheld. We handle disputes as a mediator, not a disinterested party — we have a reputational interest in both buyers and sellers feeling fairly treated.
What we sell
SellWiki is a specialist marketplace for collectibles and high-quality secondhand objects. Our primary categories are:
- Art — paintings, prints, drawings, watercolours, and original sculpture from any period
- Watches — mechanical, quartz, and vintage timepieces from established manufacturers and independent makers
- Jewellery — rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and loose gemstones, both signed and unsigned
- Coins & banknotes — numismatic coins, medals, tokens, and paper money of all periods and countries
- Comics & illustration art — original comic art, rare and key issues, figures, and related collectibles
- Vintage fashion — designer and vintage clothing, accessories, and handbags where provenance can be documented
We actively review all listings before publication. A lot may be declined if the description is insufficient, photographs are inadequate or misleading, the condition is not clearly stated, or the item does not fit the Platform’s focus on quality collectibles. This is not a market for mass-produced non-collectibles, multi-quantity commodity lots, or items available new from retailers.
What we don’t do
We do not list counterfeits, reproductions presented as originals, or items whose authenticity the seller cannot reasonably substantiate. A seller who knowingly lists a counterfeit item has their account terminated and may face referral to relevant authorities. We take authenticity seriously because our buyers rely on it, and because a single high-profile fake incident damages trust for every seller on the Platform.
We do not list mass-produced non-collectibles. SellWiki is not a general secondhand marketplace; sellers should not list items such as used electronics, common household goods, or items that are widely available new. Listings that do not fit the collector focus of the Platform will be declined.
We do not list anything that is illegal under EU law or the law of Italy. This includes items subject to sanctions, CITES-restricted animal products, weapons and firearms without appropriate licensing, prohibited narcotics, and human remains. Our prohibited items list is set out in full in the Terms of Service.
Where we ship to
In Phase 1, SellWiki operates across the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland. Sellers may decline to ship to specific countries within that region, and they are responsible for complying with all export and customs requirements applicable to their shipments. Buyers outside these regions cannot currently register to bid.
We are actively working on expanding to additional regions. North America, Japan, Australia, and other markets with established collector communities are on our roadmap. When new regions are added, we will announce them on the Platform homepage and by email to registered users who have opted in to SellWiki announcements.
Shipping costs, methods, and insurance are the responsibility of the seller and are displayed on each Lot listing. SellWiki does not provide a shipping service and is not responsible for carrier delays, losses, or damage in transit.
